Adding Sump

I have a SCA 80g that is currently plumbed to a large sump/refugium in the garage. I'm thinking of going with a smaller sump under the stand, but there is a center brace that I don't know if I can temporarily remove to get a 30" sump in. I think SCA is no longer in business, so reaching out here to see if anyone would know if this piece is load bearing? I found an older video that shows the same tank on the stand without the center brace.

I would empty out about half of the water before removing that center brace putting the sump in then put the brace back on

Thanks for the reply. Definitely a good idea and was planning on it, but still wanting to have peace of mind knowing whether or not it's load bearing.
