Hello all!
Thanks to this forum, I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a brand new Mr. Aqua 12 long. I currently have one up and running and has been for the last 4 years and it has been through a lot. I have moved this tank, dealt with a year of a GHA take over, lost fish, lost coral, etc. The tank does not have a sump, just a pico skim 2.0 and a AquaClear 70 that runs various things like CPE or Purigen or whatever is needed at the time.
Now that I have this new 12 long, I want to drill it and sump it. Issue here is, I have never drilled a tank, nor ever had a sump. While I understand the basics of how it all works, I'm not 100% certain I can do it all myself. Probably can get something basic up and running, but in all honesty, I want to over-engineer the **** out of this thing. I want to so it right, so I'm still in the research phase of equipment and plumbing. From what I can tell, I want to go the PVC route, get a 15-20 gallon sump, and I know I want the ability to have auto-dosers running. I know I am probably over thinking some aspects, and not at all considering other aspects, so please feel free to share any and all opinions.
So with that said, is there anyone who would want to help me build Mr. Aqua 12 v.2.0? Any help can be compensated with beers, frags of my limited coral, eternal gratitude and friendship. Anything from suggestions on what to buy to actually helping drill, plumb, transfer tanks is all appreciated.
Ideally I would have it up and running by June 4 (I leave the country for 10 days June 6) but I know that means working fast, like really fast...so if that works for anyone, great, if not, I'd be happy to start after I get back and if someone is willing to help later, I would much rather wait!
Thank you all so much!
